TANNER AG has been named one of the best employers in Bavaria under the “Great Place to Work” initiative. The tribute is given to companies that offer their employees particularly attractive working conditions. “At TANNER we have long been continuously committed to creating a positive working environment for our staff. I see this award as both a confirmation of these efforts and an incentive for further improvements in the future,” says a delighted Stefan Kügel, CEO of TANNER AG.
Employee survey as a basis
The award was preceded by an anonymous survey of TANNER AG employees conducted last autumn. They gave their views on key workplace issues such as trust in management, quality of cooperation, appreciation, identification with the company, career development opportunities, remuneration, health promotion and work-life balance.
“We are particularly proud that analysis of the employee survey very clearly showed that TANNER AG does not just rank above the average of the participating companies, but frequently even surpasses the benchmark,” comments Stefan Kügel. This comparative value represents the range of results achieved by 90 percent of companies in Germany across all sectors between 2014 and 2018. TANNER’s overall rating of 84 percent is also 11 percent above this value.
This evaluation also illustrates specific fields in which the company could improve even further in future. “Our employees feel for example that special events such as major orders should be given more emphasis internally. I can only agree with this as it promotes team spirit,” confirms Stefan Kügel.
Traditional brand with a view to the future
The award as one of the best employers in Bavaria underscores the fact that corporate culture at TANNER is strongly characterised by trust and team spirit, so ensuring the company is well prepared for the challenges of the future.
“We are aware that attractive working conditions and cooperation based on trust are key to economic success and mastering important tasks in future,” confirms Stefan Kügel. “I think we’re on the right track here, especially with the options we offer for combining work and family. Today, some 50 percent of our employees are women – working in a predominantly technical environment.” The options offered here include flexible work time models, working from home, programmes for returning to work after parental leave, as well as the company’s own TANNER childcare centre with a crèche and nursery.
